Africa’s pots for 2018 World Cup qualifiers revealed

The pots for Africa’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers have been revealed. FIFA revealed the rankings for Africa on Wednesday.

The ‘special’ rankings released included the results of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers played last weekend.

There four pots are as follows:
Pot 1:
Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia
Pot 2:
Cape Verde, Egypt, DR Congo, Nigeria, Mali
Pot 3:
Cameroon, Morocco, Guinea, South Africa, Congo
Pot 4:
Uganda, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Gabon, Libya

The 2018 World Cup qualifiers draw for Africa will be held on June 24 at CAF’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt. The 20 teams will be drawn into five four-team groups with the winner of each group qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
