Roof of Africa registrations open, Notši happy with Kick4Life preparations

The countdown has begun to the Mother of Hard Enduro
Registrations for the 2016 Roof of Africa are now open. So far the registrations are only for the gold and bronze classes with the silver class registration scheduled to open on August 15.

The annual Roof of Africa race, christened the Mother of Hard Enduro, will take place from November 30 to December 3. Last year’s winner, Britain’s Graham Jarvis, is expected to return to defend his title.

To football and Kick4Life coach Leslie Notši says his side’s preparations for the upcoming 2016/2017 campaign are on track.

Kick4Life are one of the teams to watch ahead of the new Vodacom Premier League season after their sixth place finish last term.

Promoted in 2013, Kick4Life have made big strides since and have been touted to make further progress in 2016/17 under Notši.

The former Lesotho national coach said his charges have been undergoing intense training. He added that more new faces are likely to arrive before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. Kick4Life have been linked with Lioli’s Lekhanya Lekhanya.

They have already signed Bokang Mothoana from Likhopo and Monaheng Mokitimi and Mokoteli Mohapi from Tšenola United. The Old Europa side start their 2016/17 Vodacom premiership season at home to Likhopo.

Finally, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has launched its second annual KFC Football Beat 5-A-side tournament. The unveiling took place on Wednesday at Maseru Mall.

The competition will be held next month on a date still to be confirmed. It will be contested by children between 10 and 14 years and will take place at the Kick4Life football centre.

The final KFC Football Beat competition will include 150 kids from the districts of Maseru and Butha-Buthe. The tournament is for both boys and girls and will see 25 teams compete for the first prize.

To enter the competition participants have to earn points from X-box 360 console games that will be placed at KFC branches in Maseru and Butha-Buthe. The lucky finalists will get to meet their coaches on September 3 and will undergo training sessions at Kick4Life.

The coaches for this year’s KFC Football Beat include Kick4Life assistant coach Elizabeth Yelimala, former Lesotho international Kabelo Mosothoane and Molefi Katane.
