Champions Lioli go top

Up and away... Lioli back on top
Champions Lioli moved to the top of the Vodacom Premier League for the first time this season after a comfortable 2-0 win over Sundawana on Saturday afternoon at Setsoto Stadium.

The win was Lioli’s third in a row and was sealed by first half goals from Lekhanya Lekhanya and TÅ¡epo Seturumane. The victory over Sundawana followed wins over Liphakoe and Sky Battalion in the last two weeks.

Thanks to the three points, Lioli leapfrogged to the top of the league at least for 24 hours. LMPS and Kick4Life are both away on Sunday against Bantu and LCS respectively. Sundawana, on the other hand, are still looking for their first win of the 2016/17 campaign after finishing fourth last season.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Matlama got their title push back on track with a 1-0 win over Linare at the LCS Stadium. Tse Putsoa were not in action last weekend as their game with Bantu was postponed and that was part of stuttering start to the season that saw Matlama win just once their opening four games.

There was also joy for LDF on Saturday afternoon as Sohle-Sohle got their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Likhopo at Ratjomose. LDF’s winner came courtesy of evergreen striker Mojela Letsie. The win moved Sohle-Sohle up to ninth place in the Vodacom premiership.
