The penultimate round of the 2011/12
Vodacom Premier League season will take place tomorrow with a full round of fixtures.
With the title race already wrapped up
after Lesotho Correctional Services’ (LCS) win over Joy last weekend, the pick
of the weekend ties is the clash between rivals Matlama and Lioli which will be
played at the Setsoto Stadium.

Apart from the searing rivalry between
the two teams, the match has great significance in the race for a top four spot.
Matlama currently hold the last of those spots, in fourth, with 31 points –
four ahead of Lioli.
Another side in the hunt for a top four
place is Mafeteng’s Bantu. A Matšo
Matebele travel to the capital Maseru to face LMPS at the PTC Ground. Bantu
are third in the league with 31 points and can still finish second.
The side currently in second is LDF. Sohle-Sohle have guaranteed a top four
place but they can still be pipped to second spot by Bantu or Matlama if they
slip up in their final two games. Tomorrow they host already relegated Majantja
at Ratjomose.
Speaking of relegation; two former
champions, Linare and Likhopo, meet in Hlotse still yet to be a hundred percent
sure of their survival. It means tomorrow’s match is must-win – and a victory
for Tse Tala though would see them
clinch safety.
Joy and Mpharane Celtics are two more
sides that have the relegation axe hovering over their heads. The two Leribe
sides both have 23 points, just three above the drop zone, making tomorrow’s
clash at the Leribe Pitso Ground a proverbial six-pointer.
Finally, champions LCS will be presented
with their league trophy when they host Maduma at their LCS Stadium. Maduma
will be desperate to spoil the party though. Maduma, after a roaring start to
the season, find themselves stuck in the second relegation spot, two points
from. Nothing less than a win will do.
