Lioli
defender Basia Makepe has been appointed captain of Lesotho.
Makepe
replaces Nkau Lerotholi as skipper and he will lead Likuena against Seychelles
in the two upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Lesotho
plays Seychelles away on Saturday and hosts the island nation on next week Tuesday.
Likuena
caretaker coach Moses Maliehe is familiar with Makepe having coached him at
Under-20 level. Maliehe was assistant coach to Leslie Notši when Lesotho took
part in the CAF African Under-20 Championship in 2011.
Makepe
is expected to line-up in the heart of Likuena’s defence alongside club-mate
Kopano Tseka. Tseka was also Makepe’s central defensive partner in Lesotho’s qualifying
run to the U-20 Championship.
