Hitman... Roboama Koloti is now an LMPS player... |
LMPS have
completed the signing of Lesotho Under-20 striker Roboama Koloti from Sundawana.
Koloti’s capture is another coup for Semunye
following the additions of Nkau Lerotholi from Matlama and former Lioli captain
Basia Makepe over the past year.
Koloti hasn’t
featured in the Vodacom Premier League this season after he elected to take up
police training last September.
It is the same
route Lerotholi took when he departed Matlama for LMPS last January and Koloti
could make his debut this weekend against Rovers if Semunye coach Mosito Matela deems him fit enough to start.
Masaena, as Koloti
is nicknamed, was fantastic during the 2015/16 season. He scored 13 goals to
inspire Sundawana to an improbable fourth place finish in the Vodacom premiership
and at the end of the campaign he was voted the players’ player and young
player of the season.
His red-hot form
led to interest from Lesotho’s big guns and in the off-season Lioli made an enquiry
for Koloti but Tse Bo Yellow slapped
a M2 million price tag on the striker’s head.
LMPS, however,
used an offer of a job to entice Koloti and the club hopes the starlet’s
arrival will relieve their goal-scoring woes. LMPS have scored just 14 goals in
16 games this season and have sorely missed their top scorer, Tefa
Marcus Makhoane, who has been out injured since November.
The police
side are desperate to establish themselves as a force. They are sixth in the
Vodacom Premier League, three points off a top four spot.
