| 2016/17 NBL action will get underway on September 10 |
The Lesotho Basketball Association (LBA) has
announced that the 2016/17 National Basketball League (NBL) season will begin
on next Saturday.
The new basketball campaign will launch at
the National University of Lesotho’s (NUL) basketball courts and will see defending
women’s champions Lichocha Shooting Rifles begin their title defence against
Bashana Baheso (BBH).
Later in the day, men’s titleholders KTA
All Stars will start their quest for a third championship in four years with a
match-up against Lerotholi Polytechnic.
Next Sunday the action will move to the
Lesotho College of Education (LCE) where the hosts will face Limkokwing
University of Creative Technology (LUCT) in the women’s competition and Bashana
Baheso in men’s play.
The first round of the NBL will end on
November 26 and the second round will start on January 14, 2017.
The LBA’s schedule has also confirmed
that the annual Independence Memorial Tournament will be held on October 1
while the Summer Slam Charity tournament will take place on December 10.
The LBA has also announced it will hold
its annual general meeting on September 24.
