All set up for El Clasico: Lioli versus Matlama

Looking for more success... Lioli
We are neck-and-neck heading into next weekend’s Clasico, the Super Derby between Lioli and Matlama.

Thanks to wins for both today, Lioli and Matlama will meet next Saturday level on points at the top of the Vodacom Premier League. It is the most exciting outcome and next weekend’s meeting is a mouth-watering prospect.

Lioli and Matlama set up their clash with differing wins this afternoon.

Champions Lioli were made to work hard for a 1-0 win over a plucky Kick4Life while Matlama relatively cruised to a 3-1 victory over Liphakoe.

Lioli were given a difficult afternoon by Leslie Notši’s Kick4Life. The host side was well organised and made it tough for Tse Nala to play their usual expansive game. Lioli’s winner came from the penalty spot thanks to in-form midfielder Jeremea Kamela. It was Kamela’s third goal in as many games.

Matlama kept in touch with Lioli by outplaying Liphakoe 3-1. Tse Putsoa striker Motebang Sera was again on target, taking his tally to 12 goals at the top of the goal-scoring charts.

Elsewhere, LDF got back to winning ways after two successive goalless draws with a 1-0 win over Likila United in Butha-Buthe thanks to a Mojela Letsie penalty. Sohle-Sohle have been on bad run of form. In fact, today’s win was only their second in the league since the turn of the year (two wins in 10 games). The loss heaps pressure on Likila who will drop into the relegation if Linare manage a positive result against Bantu tomorrow.

In Roma, Rovers and LCS played to a 0-0 draw. The result is more significant to Rovers who are trying to escape relegation than Masheshena who are guaranteed to finish third this season.

Thanks to the points, the Dynamites have moved up to tenth. Two points above the relegation zone.
