Wimbledon Final - The Clash of the Number Ones

Today’s Wimbledon final is probably the confirmation of the new rivalry in tennis, a rivalry that will dominate the game for the next two years. It is perhaps safe to say that the great Roger Federer is now out of the equation as a consistent contender for Grand Slam titles.

It is now the time of Nadal and Djokovic, the number one and two in the world, and they meet shortly in the Wimbledon final. It is the perfect final and it is a very exciting prospect.

Djokovic as stated often times is the only player that can compete with Nadal, both defensively and offensively, and physically he will be able to match Nadal.

It will be interesting to see which player comes out on top. Both very good movers and they have very solid ground strokes. Nadal’s has added more variety to his game, serve and volleying to great success throughout the tournament

But the edge probably goes to Djokovic. He is in the form of his life and has the tools to disturb Nadal. With his consistent serve and his backhand he will not be dictated to as other players on tour.

Djokovic has the head-to head advantage this year winning on four occasions against Nadal.

Prediction: Djokovic to win in five sets
