Women’s Super League champions LDF Ladies on a roll

LDF Ladies are on course to defend their Lesotho Women's Super League
title after a blistering start to the season...

Champions LDF Ladies are on a roll after their 12-0 win over Rovers on Saturday in Mohale’s Hoek lifted them to the top of the Lesotho Women’s Super League standings.

The 12-0 scoreline is the biggest winning margin this season and it allowed Lehloenya Nkhasi’s side to leapfrog Stoko into first place on goal difference.

The champions have been dominant so far. They have scored 17 goals in three games this term and are yet to concede a goal.

More importantly, perhaps, LDF have already claimed a win over rivals Kick4Life who finished runners up last season and are considered LDF’s closest competition again.

That 1-0 win over Kick4Life three weeks ago puts LDF in a strong position, especially with their burgeoning goal difference.

In second place is 2016 champions Stoko who beat Mafeteng Sisters 3-1 at the Mabote Police Ground. Though not quite as striking as LDF’s tallies, Stoko have also been impressive this season scoring 11 goals and only conceding once in their three games.

LDF and Stoko are the only sides with perfect records so far.

In third place are three-time runners up Kick4Life who bounced back from their disappointment against LDF to beat Sky Battalion 2-0 at Mohale’s Hoek High School

The surprise package of this season has been fourth placed Basetsana who continued their fine start to the season with a 2-1 win over Berea. It is now back-to-back wins for Basetsana who gave Kick4Life a scare in their opening game of the season only to lose 3-2.

Basetsana’s results:
Kick4Life 3-2 Basetsana
Basetsana 2-1 Rovers
Basetsana 2-1 Berea

The bottom half of the table comprises of Rovers, Mafeteng Sisters and Sky Battalion with Berea Ladies propping up the table.
