Econet Premier League announces fixture changes

A busy week of Econet Premier League action lies ahead...

The Econet Premier League has announced changes to its fixture list which will now see a full round of games played on Thursday’s Independence Day holiday.

The changes also see a round of matches set for this weekend which had originally been set aside for this season’s Independence Cup.

The league has brought forward the first round’s last match-day of action which was supposed to be played on January 12 and 13 to “give players an opportunity to rest prior to the second round fixture” and afford teams adequate time to register new players in the January transfer window.

Those Week 13 matches will now be played on Thursday.

The Week 5 fixtures that were scheduled to be played on October 26 and 27 have also been moved forward to this Sunday which means the 2018 Independence Cup will likely take place on that final weekend of the month.

Thanks to the fixture change there will be seven games played on Thursday with double headers held at Setsoto Stadium, Ratjomose and the Maputsoe DiFA Stadium.

Thursday’s Fixtures:
Linare v Sefotha-fotha (13:00, Maputsoe DiFA Stadium)
Galaxy v LDF (15:00, Maputsoe DiFA Stadium)
Kick4Life v Bantu (15:00, LCS Stadium)
Matlama v Liphakoe (15:00, Setsoto Stadium)
Swallows v LMPS (13:00, Ratjomose)
Likhopo v LCS (15:00, Ratjomose)
Majantja v Lioli (15:00, Mohale’s Hoek DiFA Ground)

Teams will then be back for another busy day of action on Sunday.

Likhopo v Swallows (13:00, Ratjomose)
