Matlama have moved their crunch match against LCS tomorrow from the Central Prison to the Setsoto Stadium. Matlama are still hopeful of a top four finish to save a season that has seen them meekly relinquish their Vodacom Premier League crown.
Tse Putsoa have moved the game to the national stadium to nullify the advantage LCS would have by playing at a venue that is normally their home ground. Matlama’s own home ground, Pitso Ground, is still undergoing renovations and has been unavailable all season.
LCS on their part are chasing the league title, which would be their third in five years but a first since 2008. Masheshena are level at the top with LDF on 51 points and a win over Matlama would keep them ahead regardless of LDF’s result tomorrow because of their superior goal difference.
In Hlotse there is a similar situation. Linare are in fourth place and are looking to hang on to their first top four finish since the 2007/08 season. They host LDF, also desperate for a win in their hunt for a first league championship since 2004. The other big game tomorrow is the traditional rivalry match between Lioli and Bantu. At the beginning of the season, or even a few weeks ago, this perhaps would have been the match to watch, however Lioli have endured a sloppy season while Bantu’s promising title challenge has withered away in recent weeks.
As result all eyes will be on Hlotse and the Setsoto Stadium.
